Excahnge 2000 ->2007 transition .What should be done to the distribution lists?
Greetings to all againI nearly completed an Exchange 2000 to 2007 transition and i would like to ask something before proceeding further. In the 2000 server there are some mailboxes that are parts of distribution lists. When i move those mailboxes to the new 2007 server will the distribution lists's settings be updated automatically or should i create the distribution lists from the scratch ? Thank in you in advance Isaak

Thank in you in advance Isaak Groups (both 'distribution' and 'security') exist only in the ActiveDirectory. If you have only one Exchange organization then you haveonly one Active directory forest and there's no need for you to doanything except to make sure that the mail-enabled groups all have a'Universal' scope. You used the word 'transition' in your question so I'll assume you'renot moving from one AD forest to another.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
